New fixtures: SoftPanels

It's my understanding that the softpanels come with two yokes for horizontal and vertical mounting. Not a quick change like a kino lollipop but a lot more sturdy.

Wow I hope that's true! I'd set them to one of each.

The extra yoke would be a $200 accessory if this were LitePanels.

I'm not sure if a vertical yoke is included but I don't see it listed as an accessory. On the Kickstarter comments someone asked about it and said it needed to be remounted in a vertical yoke so obviously one exists. I hope it's included.

So I wonder how long until they contact the backers (said they'd ask if you want an AB plate or V-lock)... and of course ship.

I don't want to distract them, but I do feel like it would be good business to take a minute and post a message of thanks, plus some projections or status.

Kevin posted an update. He says the predicted delivery dates are on track. I'm in no hurry, but definitely looking forward to seeing this technology for myself.

I'm interested to hear the production timeline update on Tuesday.

+1 can't wait.

I'm trying to find a battery system for this and some of my other accessories. V-mount. What does everyone here recommend?

Right now looking at PAGlink, Blueshape and the new AB Cine V-mounts.

I don't use batteries often (but its great to have the option) and rent V mounts when I need to so I really haven't looked into any options for the 2x3.

Update: Looks like end of June for first shipments, but no hard date as an element of the power board is getting redesigned for better and more efficient battery compatibility.

Works for me.

Even with the delays its still not bad for a kickstarter and I'm glad they have taken the time to improve the product.

- Improved battery efficiency
- Improved colour metering

I can't wait to get mine but I appreciate the work going into making the best product possible.

Same. If it's as promising as it appears to be, I'll likely buy a 2nd right away. Want a few of the Aputure COB 120 lights as well in bi-color or daylight for a portable, battery-powered package.

Matt Allard has a review of a new flexible LED light on Newsshooter.

I have two of the original Westcott 1x1 daylight Flex lights, which are very similar design and they are very color accurate. The cables, connectors and mounting hardware are fiddly and flimsy though, and they can be a pain to mess with.

The new Aladdins look a lot nicer and I like the bi-color option but I can't see anywhere to purchase them in the US. The Aladdin site directs to Zylight, which re-directs back to Aladdin and I don't see pricing or checkout process for any of the Flex models.

I know the advantage of the 2x3 and 4x4 is the footprint and the lack of soft-boxes.

But I would still be interested in getting a soft of for when I want to turn that 2x3 to a 5x6 with a soft box...similarly to what one might do with the skypanels. Any word on accessories for these?
