Red Raven?We're missing someone...
I think for those who are still looking for that "right" image from the camera, the EVA is probably not for them...I do think some lose track of the fact that this was designed and is being released as a Cine camera, and that is where it will shine the most...with production design...proper lighting...a camera crew and proper post.
So you actually think this camera will be used for cinema, as in shooting features in Hollywood? This is what looks like you are saying.
No it doesn't.

If you read my short post you will see I did not mention the word Hollywood....however, the 3 demos were all narrative work, and the camera is specifically designed for that...whether used as an A cam on an Indy or a B cam along with one of the Varicams, with proper crew this camera will be capable...you may not like the image you see from it yet, but that will not stop a Director and DP from using it, should they choose to...some have already seen enough from this camera...I like the image, but not the mount, so the camera is not for me...personally had I wanted it with an EF mount, I would wait till the camera's released, rent it and decide...anyway, in another few days there will be no shortage of footage out there...I think that in spite of you or I, Panasonic will sell many of these.
The thing is ANY camera will look good with production design...proper lighting...a camera crew and proper post. Take any camera in the EVA1 price range and if it doesn't look good after all that you should trash it. So saying people are losing track if they want to see footage not over produced doesn't make sense. Unless you were trying to say it doesn't matter if the camera doesn't look good without production design...proper lighting...a camera crew and proper post, because this is all it will be used with. Hence my Hollywood question. Because Hollywood is about the only use where you will always have all that. Small people will want a camera which looks great without the lipstick too.
To add to my other posts, we specifically picked a crew that we though would be the makeup of most of the users. One eas corp. guy, others were film students. Con who ran the crew has been around a lot longer.
Carl provided some of his EVA1 clips. I ran them thru ACES (Panasonic V35 -> Rec.709) in DaVinci and only made lift/gamma/gain adjustments. No color adjustments. First thing you'll notice is the scooter in the background appeared orange in Carl's contrast/saturation correction from V-Log. Here it is back to a more accurate red.

I can pop-in to ProAV on Monday and check the colour of that vespa![]()
haha! don't go out of your way, or anything, but I'd be curious to know.
Using DaVinci's Hue vs Hue curve, I brought the bike's color closer to what it (probably) actually is.

I think the same, C200 has artificial colors, not so cinematic.I guess its a personal thing, the C200 footage did nothing for me, I much prefer the EVA1.
