Hey guys,

I'm a long time lurker here, and finally got around to registering an account.

I'm the director of "DESECRATION", a psychological horror film set in an abandoned asylum. Here's the set of trailers from our trailer shoot in September. We were lucky enough to be able to use a G35 adapter, as well as recruit the incredible Norm Li and his crew.

Also at this point, I'd really like to say what a pleasure it was working with Norm. He's a very hard working individual who is extremely talented and well-tempered. I strongly encourage anyone looking for a DP in Vancouver to give him a call.

And with that...here are the trailers, in Quicktime format!

wow.... just wow.... that looks amazing. Good job

what all software/hardware for the dvx did you use in this production?

how big was the budget on this film?

Well! I will keep it real and simple.

Each clip looks good, sounds good and don't tell anything about the story to engage my interest other than how cool the the film looks visually. I can sort of tell what the movie could potentially be about after viewing each trailer and the teaser. Perhaps the use of some voice over and/or title sequence to fill in with the important info about the story can make this worth play back in theaters gallery.

Left me wanting more. Awesome teaser! Do you, or anyone, have or know where to find a photo of the G35? How did you guys light the interior asylum? Nice work.

G35 and DVX really creates a filmic quality for sure. Great mood in these pieces and very high production values. But to call any of them trailers is really stretching it. A teaser gives you a glimpse of the visuals and hints at reason to see the story. But a trailer gives you an idea of what the story is about and none of these did that.

I'd sooner call all of these teasers. If you're using them as a sales tool, I hope you shot more story material than this. But that's my only criticism. Everything else was top notch.

What did this cost you to produce? How many days was your shoot? And how did you get a G35 to use since they're not available yet?

Nicely done-

that sound was fing AMAZING!! That low light on the bathroom sink is perfect. This is EXACTLY what I'd like to do with a hospital near by me. Yes the story...i don't really see any. BTW I have yet to think of a script that I can make use of out of an empty asylum, well one that actually makes sense that is. Session 9 seems to be the only one that worked out.

Norm Li is awesome. I've never seen any of his work that I wasn't impressed with.

Thanks for sharing the trailers, they look creepy.

Hey thanks for the nice comments Onesock (Nathan!). It was a pleasure working with you all too. The teasers/trailers look great.

Thanks to all of your comments as well fellow DVXusers!

Soon you will all see the new horror short I filmed last weekend for the last Robert Rodriguez Bloodshots 48hr Horror Film Festival. Lots of craziness, visual effects, and high production value...I was lucky enough to shoot with the G35 again, a set of 10 nikkor lenses, 15 Kinos, jib arm, and dolly....which we really made use of. I had a great gaffer, a fellow DVXuser you may all know, Chayse Irvin, and a great grip. My camera assist was also keeping me happy :)

Great job! I especially dug Trailer #2. For me, it had the best combination of visuals and running time. Very creepy.

And for anyone who doesn't think sound is as important as images... well, I think these trailers prove otherwise!. Sound is at least 50% of any movie, especially when it's suspense. Heck, even silent films had a pianist playing in the theater!

Congrats! I can't wait to see more.

Great stuff... Norm Li --- your work is incredible... I think the egg and the animal bones hinted at a direction that the film might go, for those looking for the story in the trailer... but then again, I could be way off. Once again, great job to you all...

damn, on my NTSC calibrated monitor the trailers were too dark to make out what 90% of the footage was. What i did see was amazing!

Great stuff really! The sound was amazing and it looked very very good. This is how it looks like when you know what you are doing. :)

I agree with Ramon looks like interesting effects, but what the hell is the film about. "More content " would give the film more flare.

teaser #1 is pretty scary.. The trailer works without the dialogue, i think it could show some scenes showing motivation of why they want to lurk there in the first place, it looks like they are trying to find something.. its definetly a place where I dont want to venture into...

happy halloween, i ate most of the candy i was suppose to give today, now im feeling sick. ack.
