C100: New Canon C100 Mark II Films from Canon Switzerland

Canon has really fallen off a cliff in terms of producing quality promotional material over the last 1.5 years, would love to know who is signing off on all this junk
 
If this is really a video created by Canon...they have really lost the way. Not sure posting videos like this are doing the sales teams any favors. In the past, I have owned many of their cameras. Videos like this make me feel as if they are intentionally pushing me towards Sony.
 
A high school project? Come on...it's the sort of film/project that C100 owners will make, so what is the problem?
Canon will not promote the C100 as Arri Alexa like camera. I really don't see what is the problem here. They promote the C100 as a One Man Band/small crew camera, and that what it is!
 
You guys are a tough crowd.

Although I did note there was a light and stand completely in frame at the beginning. I kept hoping this guy turned out to be a photographer or something.

Absolutely. This video is to promote that you, a couple actors, a small footprint production, and a camera can go out and make short films. That's it! And if you can't realize that you have little understanding of promotion and advertising.

Well Imo, if that's all of what canon is promoting for a $5999.00 camera, then I think what others may be saying is, it has not suceeded when there are cameras on the market now, producing far superior quality for a quarter of the price... But on a side note, I'm glad people really get to see how average these over priced cameras can look when it is in an average joe's hands.

I completely understand this...and it still looks bad. Just IMO. All subjective of course...if canon wants to stamp there name on this video...so be it.
 
As soon as I wipe the tears away and clear my throat, I will be uploading this film to every mobile device and PC that I own..... Just finished uploading the score to my alarm clock so I can wake up to this incredibly un repetitive song everyday of the week.
On a serious note, I wish they set up a tip link, I would love to donate my next paycheck to Canon for commissioning the most beautiful film I've ever seen. For those of you who said there's not a decent shot in the whole film! Well I have news for you, I would love to see you make a $6,000 C100 MK2 emulate a $300 GoPro on that handlebar shot any better, not to mention,, have the balls to shoot a close-up with a 10mm field of view, lets see if any of you can make a beautiful model look any more distorted and out o proportion. Yeah, nobody talking smack now!!! God I LOVE YOU CANON!! You inspire me!!!
 
I feel like this is old news. I've already owned the C100 Mark II for five months and it's working out great, regardless of how bad Canon's marketing videos on it are.

Well, if you already own a C100 MKII, it's perfectly normal that it's old news for you. I doubt Canon are making those videos for C100 owners.
 
IMO, some bar shots looked fine but, in any case, this was a short to show the BTS footage. Now, depending on what sort of lighting was used - if any beside the practicals - this is not a bad demo/BTS at all for a quickie single operator project.
