http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/48520-REG/Sima_SLB_M_Video_Bracket_1.htmlJoe,
Who makes the Flash bracket that you are using to support the Rode stereo mic ?
I looks like a good size for your set-up, and I wouldn't mind getting the same bracket to use it in the same way.
The only info I see on this from the user guide:OK, it appears that the IRIS of M700 / HS700 works just like the HMC150 but only when you are at 0 dB gain. So when the Gain is 0, you can set your aperture to F 4.0 while the zoom is at the widest setting, and then zoom through the entire optical zoom range with the exposure locked. This is great...
But how can you set the Gain to higher than 0 dB when the IRIS is NOT set to OPEN ?
I want to set the db Gain independantly of the IRIS setting.
The only info I see on this from the user guide:
Has anyone used the TM700 with 64-bit Windows 7? I'm having problems with the 60P files crashing Sony Vegas Pro 8 on my 64-bit Core i7 machine. Whenever I render, Vegas crashes or hangs -- every time.
But the 60P files edit & render fine (albeit slowly) on my older Core 2 laptop running 32-bit Win 7.
AFAIK, the 50p/60p footage is encoded with Level 4.2. The ATSC spec includes 60p/50p modes coded with AVC Level 4.2, so these progressive modes are pretty much broadcast-ready.

Makes one wonder why more expensive Panasonic cams, like the recently announced HPX370, have no these full-HD modes.
"...and a setting that automatically snaps a still image during video recording when an on-camera subject smiles."
This feature is hilarious to me.
The lens ring turns into an iris wheel using the Camera Function button.
It appears gain is only added past a fully open iris.
