F55: New AXS-R5 media cards for F5/f55 with RAW recorder

You're kidding me. This makes zero sense.
I want to clarify: these "SxS" cards do NOT fit in the existing SxS slot?
I'm not talking about being recognized. If they fit, being recognized will come later in a FW update.

New AXSM cards cannot even insert to the existing SxS slots for they are too much thick.

Regarding the benefit of new AXSM cards, I found some. The new AXSM's download speed is much faster. It's roughly 55min (old) vs 35min (new) for downloading full card of raw files.

By the way, it's my comparison when I decided to go for F55.
-Alexa has good color, DR, and enough resolution with heavy body and matured workflow.
-F65 has good color, DR, and excessive resolution with heavier body and limited workflow.
-F55 has good color, DR, and good resolution with a light ergonomic body and wide workflow.
-RED has little bit thin color, good DR, and better resolution choice with a light body and matured workflow.
I don't know the reality of film industry and it was a guess work to imagine the high-end cams but I think I was right:)

Yep, F65 was DOA. The folks in my world started selling their F65's with zero rental hours. Zero. I spent huge money developing a fiber/power/accessory integrated system for it. Never really saw the light of day because owners had no reason to invest even more into a system they were already worried about. They only wanted to get what they could, unload it and move on. That camera nearly put me in a grave.

It was, in my opinion, too awesome. Too much information. Too complicated to deal with initially. To make it even harder, it was pulled out of the oven too early. No one wanted that kind of RAW from the camera.

What kind of raw?

What I meant was, when released, the camera system itself was raw. Like chicken that has not been fully cooked. It was not ready. What the early owners were hoping for was a camera that was ready for big time production and it was not. It seems to be that the market pressure pushed Sony into an early release that ultimately doomed the camera. Sony did get it together and the F65 ecosystem was dialed in and supported well enough to trust it for big shows, but it was too late in my opinion. 8k at 16bits is no joke. I think the market was asking for it, but when they got a taste of the challenges associated, they stepped back and clutched the simplicity of Alexa at 1/4 of the resolution. Then the F55 shows up with a more useful feature set for today's production. Not perfect out of the box either, but more incentive for owners to wait for the various updates along the way.

Don't discount the IQ. The F65 is still superior to the F55 and Alexa, by most accounts...both technically and visually. The only thing in the same arena is arguably Red Dragon.
F65 is 16bit also, not 12 bit. (raw, that is).

I don't think anyone discounts the F65's performance, it's a beast, and makes beautiful pictures - it's its popularity that's the problem.

I would never discount the F65 in terms of image performance. It is stunning at the end of the day. That is why I said earlier - it's too awesome, too much information. It never failed to be good looking, it failed to be a good business partner. Professional cameras have to be part of a business since most of the hobby level crowd would not pay $150k for a basic F65 package and then the post gear on top of that. Most could not get it to rent and were stuck with an $85k anchor plus all the other pieces that were likely purchased to make it complete. $100k even if you already have glass for it.

But by image performance alone - I love that camera. It sees everything and allows you to cover a lot of sins in post.
