New 720p and 1080i Footage

Dont forget that when in interlace mode the CCD uses dual readout, combining lines to defeat flicker. This lowers the vertical resolution a lot. Combine this with the lower horisontal res (1280 not 1920) of the dvcpro codec. What you end up with is maybe a real raster of 1280x800 which the codec upsamples. What you still gain is the Chroma raster of 640x1080, but wait for 1080p material which will boast much higher resolution.
 
I think that Anders - an expert one - he's right, Danilo! Don't worry! The progressive will be the answer to your sensitive eye, for sure. I can give you my example: when I saw for the first time the Kaku's XL-H1 footage my first thought was that it was so much videoish to me. And because in that time I was at dial-up at home, far away from the university's broadband, I wasn't interesting regarding the second batch. Weeks later when I had opportunity to download 24F files with cine gamma, my opinion changed. But my question is if you already saw the moving image files? I'm waiting for the PC ones!
 
I have just downloaded the 24p file and it's not 24p advanced, but normal 24p with a 3:2 pulldown.

Note that the blob about dual readout does not apply to this file, it's real progressive.
 
Yup, I didn't see yet but what's your opinion? And about cine gamma? Is there also or not?

As I figured, 1080p is a little soft compared to the capability of the codec. But compared to 720p it does offer more resolution, especially in the chroma channels.

Having said that, it would be nice to know the settings for the shots, like f-number, focal lenght, gamma setting etc.
