battery doesnt void warranty at all.. Its just like using an external microphone that is not panasonic.. its an accessory.

doesnt really matter.. for anything youd likely care to take the time to do it for. just store them at a good dry and normal temp.

AFAIK it is better to store batteries charged. i had in fact 2 NP1 go belly-up cos i had them empty all summer and now they last only 5 minutes :(

it probably had more to do  with the storage conditions than the charge in the battery. lithium ion batteries dont really have any memory of any kind, capacity may be reduced if they are left fully ..and i mean fully uncharged for very long ... or if theyare stored in the wrong humidity or temperature, you can lose functionality.  if you run the battery to the cut off point of the DVX it should still have plenty of charge left to be stored. you would probably have to really drain the cell independently of the DVX or improperly store it to let its voltage get dangerously low..  but if somesone was to be concerned with such and issue your certainly right, it would be better to simply store them near fully charged all the time.. sides. its nice to have batteries ready to go. i guess i assumed that by "empty" he meant after bing drained in the DVX to the cutoff point whch leaves the battery with enough charge for storage considering how much of a battery hog the dvx is.

Just to counter some of the heat you've been getting about the batteries: got mine today - thanks for providing these batteries and for DVXuser, I've learned loads and now it's time to put it to use with my new camera.

How long will these batteries hold their charge if not used for a while? A few days? a week? a month?

I have a digital camera that uses 4 rechargale AA batteries and, even though the batteries are name brand and I have a good charger, the batteries seem to lose most of their charge after a few days.

Hey Jarred I did finally get my batteries... so you weren't running that drug/porn ring with our poor filmmaker dollars as I conjectured in my email to you :)

Yes, the batteries dont fund the drug/porn ring, they are the cover for the porn. Nothing like 24p porn... except for 24p drugs.

hey Dan, from my experience they hold the charge for about 2 months, the same as most other Lithium cells.
