NETHERBORN - Directed by Mark T. Aro

Hello Mark! Just checking in. How did everything go?

It went really well! You guys were definitely missed, but you were in the right place. We would've been hard pressed to fit more people in Jen's living room anyway!

We got some real nice footage and I can not tell you how happy I am that it is in the can!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Now I just have to clear the other stuff off of the plate and move on to the Edit.

:)

We had a really good time hanging together and learning important stuff. We missed being with you guys though. Glad everything went so well... But I would never expect less of such a talented group. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I can't believe I missed this group of pictures! You made my baby cry!:kali: haha Just kidding, you seem to both be crying. Those are awesome!:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Here's a few images from the last night of shooting. We had a smaller crew than usual, but it was a last minute adjustment to the schedule, but it all went very well. There were so many wonderful people who helped throughout the filming process and I just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! You really were a blessing and I am so appreciative of all your efforts.

Now on to PUSH VFX and then NETHERBORN EDIT/VFX! Sleep! Who needs SLEEP!

Anyone notice that the HVX, Brevis and Marshall monitor are still on and the HVX is pointing at Angela and Jennifer? Interesting. You were so tired that you left the monitor and camera on after the last take. I need a magnifying glass to see if it is recording...

And... for Movie makers... Isn't sleep highly overrated? :violent5:

Mark, I thought you were shooting on the RED. Was that not part of the plan?

It was the plan... I actually had it all in place and last minute I was informed that we would have to rent a lens (1/2 hour before the deadline for FED EX) so it ended up not happening.

Long story short... it was much more flexible shooting on the HVX because we have three of them and our crew has done a lot of stuff together so when we shoot it is play and we just keep going till it is done. The guys with the RED are great guys but it is their business and they are just not as flexible as we are. Personally I like to be able to adjust and change or reshoot in a different place if it isn't feeling right and it is just harder to do under those conditions. You know... with that FREE FILMMAKING mentality, you have to be super flexible.

Anyway, no hard feelings... The HVX with the brevis is beautiful and it really came out nicely.

:cheesy:

You are so right, and the HVX is such a nice camera! 'Just gimme light' it says.
It is fun to shoot with you and the crew. The positive team mentality experienced while having fun shooting and working with excellence is soooo wonderful. I can't wait to see Netherborn! YAY!

Having the same setup made it so I could take off to San Diego while you shot, come back and jump in just like I never left. If we had a studio to shoot the green screen stuff in, and a couple more Brevis units, we could have cut about a day off production time because we would be able to do a multi camera shoot!

A couple more Brevis units, more lenses, another great Shane tripod, more of us... :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) Ha!

Wouldn't that have been cool! that's okay, I feel very blessed that we had the tools that we did have. I remember when I didn't have anything to shoot with. :D

AWESOME! This stuff looks great...and it really looks like you had a wonderful time creating it. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one.
So many talented people here...it's scary (especially the kilt!)

Cheers to all!

Me too! I should have a second camera stabilizer soon! I would have just borrowed yours, but I'm thinking about building these for fellow DVX users out there.

Nice! You are a busy guy Shane.

I know that Mark Aro is going great guns on editing now. I hope he has been getting some sleep and family time. I can't wait to see NETHERBORN! It will rock. :kali:
