Need Color Grading Help

Tommetass, your effort looks like the "correct way" to do color correction. Your colors look very natural. Although, the original poster asked for a dramatic, dark "drugs are bad" kind of look. ;-)

yeah:P
I just think all the other elements (sound effects, music, speech, light etc) will also help get that look. but.. ah, anyways..

It was just a suggestion from my part..

Wow,
This thread came back from the dead. Eugenia, your skin color is off. I did want a dark feel, but that's where I had trouble with Vegas. The skin tone kept falling into the red. rcbrown23 came up with a final result that gave me what I was looking for. The dark mood with the correct skin tone.

how about you try some color balance and then check the preserve luminosity.. then you add some shadow: cyan and blue.. not much.. then duplicate the layer and set it to multiply but bring the opacity of that layer down to where it feels right and then maybe add a brightness and decrease the brightness and contrast a bit..

I mean.. you don't always have to do that much..

heres what I got... (I also gave the boy a bit better skin color)

This isn't what I was going for. I wanted more of a dark look.
