I'm currently interested in an old manual non-AI Nikon prime. I'm going to call it a non-AI mount lens. Please correct me if there is a proper name for the mount.

Question

Can a non-AI mount Nikon prime be adapted to a Canon 7D (EOS) body?

If it helps, this lens has those small 'butterfly' pins.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I believe so. Non-AI lenses are only incompatible with Nikon bodies that use the meter-coupling prong on the side of the aperture ring. The prong has a different design on the non-AI lenses. Otherwise, the non-AI lenses use the exact same mount as the AI and AIS lenses.

I was at a shoot yesterday in which a non-AI Nikon 50mm f/1.4 was used on a 7D. I hope this didn't come too late for you.
