Here is a link to a promotional video I shot with the Canon 7d.

This long version will be presented in National Geographic mega stores, exhibitions, ext. Two shorter versions will be online soon.

We were on location for 3 short days with extremely small crew.

Camera functioned amazingly and survived the weather/send with no problems.

More info about the production and equipment used very soon.

Thank you and I hope you take the time to watch this long version.

Downloading the original 1080p file off Vimeo right now. Watched the whole thing in HD on Vimeo.

Really nice. What a great promo not just for the bags, but the 7D in a rough production setting. Cool to see it was robust for you. Many of the shots looked really, really nice.

Look forward to the detailed equipment list.

"Press the button...hey, you're a photographer!"

The shots are amazing, no bones about that. But blatant advertising ruined this for me. Oh, he shoots standing up. Oh, he shoots laying down. Oh, he shoots from a monopod. Oh, he clears the lens. Oh, how cute, she shoots with a pocket digicam, great pictures, eh? Oh, two very clean, young, smiling white people show blessings of civilization to lowly aborigines. See, buddy, this is called a CA-ME-RA. A DI-GI-TAL camera, not some old-fashioned film-loaded stuff that British colonisers left to your granddad. See how I load the compact flash into it? Smile, I gotta get a good shot, I spent a ton of money on this adventure trip, I want to get my money back, so you better be smiling.

There are truly great shots in this video, professional work. But as a complete message it is just too patronizing, for viewers as potential customers, and for indigenous people, who were used in this video as stand-ins for cute puppies.

I know that people will shout back "CAN YOU SHOOT SOMETHING LIKE THIS? NO? THAN SHUT UP!" But I think they will be missing a point. I have a problem with this video as a VIEWER, it does not work for me. It is way too "promo". OPHERBA said that this video will be played in NG exhibitions, kiosks, etc. I think he wants to know what a reaction to this video would be. So, this is what my reaction is: great visuals - bad message.

Wow. And this was a video about bags! I wonder what you really get mad about?!

Its a bag commercial. At first glance it kind of bothered me that all the equipment looked new. But that is what they are selling not beat up stuff. I am sure folks could pick the video apart but I thought that visually it was stunning. Yeh, I wouldn't drink out of the stream either and did you notice towards the end when he was shooting lying on the ground that his "vibram" soled boots looked brand new....

lol @Cranky

Anyway AMAZING visuals. Can i ask what wide lens did you use for the timelapse and the shot that followed. Just amazing.

Nice promo for Land Rover and Canon also :D

On watching the 1080p file I downloaded off Vimeo, I'll second another round of lauding the quality.

I'm relatively new to video production compared to many here on DVXuser. Even I am amazed at the level of visual quality a small camera body like the 7D can provide. And it is only going to get better.

Video looked great, glad to hear the camera held up under those type of conditions. Thanks for sharing.

Ps. Cranky, I don't recall him asking for content feedback.
