Ok so I have Been shooting the 7D with Nikon Glass 50,24, and 105. Now I am Ready to hop into a WIDE lense and here are My Choices and want to Know What You guys Think The Best Purchase should be out of these Three Lenses

Sigma 10mm 2.8

tokina 11-16 2.8

tamron 17-50 2.8

Considering I already have the range 24 50 and 105 as prime ..

I say go for the Tokina 11-16 but your recommendations would help..

Thanks

Tokina 11-16, hands down. Great great glass.

For posterity, it can even go through a cinema conversion to PL mount for use on future cameras.

tokina all the way

tokina all the way

Can't live without my 11-16 and 16-50. Best investment I ever made. Rock solid construction, fast, and beautiful.

I would recommend checking out the Canon EF-S 17-55mm for people who like to shoot on the go, and need to frame things fast.

On the 7D, it actually out performs my 24-70mm f/2.8L, which is surprisingly much sharper, less chromatic abberation, better contrast and has IS. I know I sound like an ad but it's true.

I own the tokina 11-16 and the canon 17-55 is. The 11-16 is awesome and provides a super wide perspective. But to avoid a lot of distortion, I like it a little better at 16mm. But since the canon is 17mm unless you need the distorted super wide, I would just get the canon. IS makes a huge difference unless you own the zfinder or a shoulder mount for handheld. The 11-16 is so wide it doesn't need IS.

I cant remember where but I read a Comment that the 17-50 by tamron was a superior lense to the 17-55 by canon.

So the 11-16 is Ordered,

and now the Dilema of

which is a Better lense

17-55 is
or17-50vc ..

I wonder where I could Go to Test these Out? I live in Houston

Not at all. The Canon 17-55mm is the best standard range EF-S, bar none. It's in value that the Tamron is generally regarded as the better of the two.

Perfectly put. I'm currently in this dilemma and I'll probably just go with the 17-55 because I know I'd want to upgrade to it eventually even if I had the 17-50.

I went with the tamron Lense with VC just because of the Price. Its almost 400 buck less, and since my only real reason is Video which is The Primary reason I got the 7d for .. I did read reviews where the Canon is Sharper for Still, but is toe to toe in Video function.

Thanks for the input ..

So Having the 11-16 Should I get the 10mm anyways or is the 11-16 wide enough?

also
