Halftone photos in FCP

I have several historical photos that are halftoned that I want to use in a video, but the halftone dots play havoc with really unfortunate moiré patterns when the photo is then zoomed or panned in Final Cut (and probably the very same problem in other NLEs). Is there something that I can do to the photos in Photoshop, or in FCP that will help?

Flicker filter might help.

Thanks. That hasn't helped entirely, yet. What do you think about using a gaussian blur?
