I just got my hands on the new SLR Magic, I did this in an hour last night, plus a few hours to edit and upload, there's no colour correction or noise reduction, it's filmed at T095, ISO from 400-800. Details on Vimeo, if I've missed any info then please let me know.

I just took a carbon fibre tripod and the GH3, no follow focus or owt fancy...

I'll do a longer video, hopefully on the weekend.

Thanks. You've helped justify my purchase. Lens arriving tomorrow.

The footage looks good given the hurried nature of the shoot, and it does show all the desirable features of a good, fast lens.

I'm enjoying the lens, I've done a music video this evening, in part I wanted to test the lens so I specifically arranged a night shoot, I've just got back and I'm shattered but this is a photo I took from one of the candles I'd set up to light the room.

I'm enjoying the lens...

It is indeed a nice piece of glass. I've only had time to do a bunch of photos, but the light gathering is amazing. Hope you share your video when done. I'm starting one soon.

Just as a FYI for anyone who gets this lens and realizes that the built-in sun shield makes it impossible to fit a step up ring to the lens for filters bigger than 49mm. SLR provided me with their own 49 to 77mm ring, but all my filters are 67mm. At first I thought I would have to get a step down ring which is not very elegant, when I realized that the hood has a 55mm thread inside. I happen to have a 55 to 67 ring so problem solved. Still not the best solution because the shade will rotate if not held while using a variable ND or polarizer, but it is a work around.

Other than that, a wonderful lens.

Here's the 3 hours I did yesterday making a musical lens test, after all the best way to test kit is to get out and use it in anger.

I'll post this in the video section as well.

FYI, there is a detailed conversation about using ND faders with the 25mm and step up ring options compared to SLR Magic's $50 one...
