My Big Conundrum About Lenses...

As I stated before, I have 1,800 buget to buy three lenses: 35mm, 50mm and 85 or 135mm.
I need you guys to help me decide.
What is better, buy Nikon and an adpter or Canon?
Canon makes different models.
In case of Canon, what would be your recommendation?

I'd buy the Nikon's EVERY time. I prefer having my iris controls where I can get to them. Someone else mentioned really wacky about the canon lenses but I can't remember now. I never cosidered them seriously anyway.

For that budget, you could get a lot more bang for your buck substituting a few of those for older, manual lenses.

A Pentax SMC 50/1.4 instead of the Canon EF 50/1.4 for example would be better glass for a third or forth of the price.

That's exactly what I had in mind, but I needed advise from people that were using Nikon instead of Canon.
