.MXF Problem : playback freeze at 30 seconds

Hi DVX users. Simply want to share a problem/solution. I only had access to the first 30 seconds of my .MXF in P2CMS during playback. In FCP every clips longer was cut to 29sec22frames (Bin & Timeline).

The problem was the Calibrated Q MXF Import v 1.6 application by Apple.

I uninstalled (link to pdf) it manually and everything is back to normal.

Is there other users with the same issue?

It isn't Apple's software.

And you'll note that the demo is limited:

"Calibrated{Q} MXF Import will only read 30 seconds of media and spanned clip reading is not enabled."

Actually, Adobe Premiere CS3 accept P2 format, I don't see why we still need a third party application to read MXF in Final Cut Pro !

What's coming?

I doubt it is mxf native support in FCP.

Apple wants to stay with QT wrappers -- at least it has.

Do you have some info?
