music video (GRITS)

To get the images out of PS:
Find the shot you wish to freeze frame in your project, export that frame as a .jpg or whatever format you like. Then import the .jpg into Photoshop. From here just erase out everything you don't want to move ( I wanted only the rappers to move, so I erased out the background which left the rapper with a transparent bckgrnd). Then I saved this file and re-imported it back to my editor. From here just throw the rapper back in the timeline at the point where you did the freeze frame and manipulate him however you wish. Sorry if this confuses you more than helps you, but I'm not the best teacher...I come up with a lot of techniques on the spur of the moment and have a hard time explaining to people how I do them.

The super small letter box in the middle was just a black matte applied to the top and bottom of the screen.

I used to live in lexington, kentucky, I live in chicago now. But yes I am a fan of that video, and correct me if i'm wrong but did you shoot it with the 100 or the 100a?

I remember this...People were whining about you using some stock effects/footage from Motion. Did you re-edit, looks different than I remember? Never heard of the group but a hot vid. I've been slacking on my non platinum emcees the last 3 years. I don't even dl music anymore I'm so not into listening anymore. Podcasts are starting to bring me back tho. I put out Street Dvds if ya ever wanna submit any vids for viewing. Hoodlife, Crack, I got a new one called BOSS UP DVD that'll be out in January so holla if ya interested in showcasing some of your clients/friends. timekoder13@gmail.com or timekoder13@hoodlifemovement.com

Nice stuff there. The only noticeable glitch I saw was the compositing on the shots with the bonfire in the background. Oh, and there seem to be some interlacing artifacts on some of the fast moving shots. But looking good overall!

I liked everything except the first 15 sec or so...seems like the intro does not hook the viewer very well..especially given all the great quality work that follows.
