Movie dialogue that should be retired.

Raiders is nothing short of a Perfect Film. The order in which the franchise should be viewed, based on best to not best, is Raiders, Temple and Crusade.

Correction: The order in which the franchise should be viewed is:

Raiders. Watch Raiders again. Watch Raiders again.

Sorry if this one was mentioned. Didn't read all the posts...

"We gotta get a bigger ____!"

Boat was the original of course, which still works in the original though.

The typical coach pep talk to the team "Now, let get out there and lets show them what we can do. "

It has always bugged me when the reckless detective is getting chewed out over the phone by his boss who then angrily hangs up, and he still sheepishly says "Yes sir" to the dial tone.

One person starts slowly clapping which evolves into a room of thunderous applause.

My God, I didn't realize it was this bad. Yes, retire it!

EDIT: This is the famous one I was thinking of originally...

Fortunately, the worst and most offensive groan-inducing cliche' is that of the 'two bumbling idiots' device from the 80's decade.

The protagonist, who is running from the 'two bumbling idiot' henchmen sent by the main bad guy, is navigating a very and I mean VERY crowded street...like filled with a Chinese Parade crowded...the 'bumbling idiots' temporarily lose sight of him/her....but instead of continuing to run, they stop, look around then when one spot the protagonist who is getting away, they invariably whack the other guy on the arm, point, then run. But of course, not without rudely pushing and/or tossing some innocent bystanders out of the way.

This cliche' will still occasionally show up but its rare. It's the sign of a true cinematic turkey.

What? Why don't you just diss To be or not to be, A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, and We have all of us heard the chimes at midnight, while you're at it...?

This has to be one of the funniest posts I've seen on this site.

Max, you've done it again!

Another thing I've noticed...It seems any time you have a Hispanic character in a supporting role, they have to call somebody "Loco" at some point.

While we're at it, what about the end of the movie cheering?

You know, a bunch of people in some sort of bunker like command center, holding onto their seats as the hero tries to accomplish his goal. When he/she finally does, the entire command/crew/crowd break out into over-the-top cheering.

When I was taking a writing class the teacher said "If you can write something that has never been done ever, you will be set for life. Especially if Shakespear hasn't done it already." I believe this. We have 14 pgs of recycled ideas!
