Mounting options

I need your help! I am going on a international trip and am planning to use my 7d for the first time in the field on a major project. I am a one man team and will be in remote areas. My camera is ready to go out of my bag with the Tamron 17-50mm VC, the D|focus follow focus and DSLR mount.

Here is what I am looking for advice on. I see a few different setting that will require different setups. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on what mounts you are using.

1. Using the Zoom H4n with two wireless microphones.

2. Using the Zoom H4n and the Cool LCD for monitoring.

3. Using the Rode VideoMic with the Cool LCD for monitoring.

Most time these options will be interview settings and of course using a tripod. Thanks!

I was going to recommend the J-Cube also, for the shotgun and wireless units.
But I don't like a monitor on a hot shoe, as it's too much weight if you ask me.

It might be best to run something like the JAG35 Cage.

Personally speaking I shoot with a DVMultiRig (old site info) which would be great, but maybe too much for your needs. I use this for both video camera and DSLR. It's super compact to travel with and can be configured in virtually any manner.

dude. search is your friend ...

How are you all mounting the zoom? Or is everyone planing on a carry bag/sling?

Based on Zacuto's video (LINK) I came up with this

$10 Audio Technica Flash Shoe Mount B&H LINK
$15 Giottos Mini Ballhead B&H LINK

Saw another way (B&H LINK) but Zoom may be too low and interfere with the controls.

B&H closed today so will try it tomorrow.

EDIT:
Its monday and I just took my GH1 to B&H, the Audio Technica Shoe Mount does not fit in the GH1 shoe socket
so I came up with another solution for same price. See post 11

So when I was at B&H I found that the Audio Technica shoe mount I mentioned in post 1 doesn't fit in the GH1 shoe.
Its slightly too big and I didn't want to force it so the parts I got were

$22.95 Rycote Hot Shoe Adapter LINK
$5.95 Bogen Female 3/8 to Male 1/4 LINK

I also tested with the Giottos mini ball head but the Zoom felt too high up.
The above mentioned parts means the Zoom is low and manageable but you can see and still access all GH1 controls.
Hope this helps you all, glad I can finally give a little info back to the community.

Any new options out there?

I, too, need to mount several things on my camera, while keeping the camera as streamlined as possible. I'd like to have a shotgun mic, a Zoom H4, and an LCD on my T2i. But I don't want to use a shoulder mount or anything bulky. The setup should be as close to handheld shooting as possible.

The J-Cube would be the cheapest, least intrusive option, but I'm also worried about straining the hot shoe mount. Has anyone tried this with success?

Other options include the Hangrip V8 (or even just the handle with mounting points) and the Jag35 cage system. Am I missing anything else?
