More XL-H1 SDI fun

It's amazing what Final Cut and Compressor can do with 1080i, particularly if you can capture the live 4:2:2 SDI direct to ProRes. This shot was taken in my backyard, running a SDI cable to my Kona card in my G5.

I used Compressor to deinterlace and create 60p footage, and then ran the footage through a FCP CC filter just for kicks.

Still rollin' with the H; it's a fantastically reliable workhorse.

Seriously considered the EX1, but not enough of an improvement to deal with the uncertainties of the rolling shutter.

That footage looks very surreal. Did you selectively blur parts of the sky?

Just a filter from the DFT 55mm set. Just dropped it onto one of my SDI clips on the timeline (after conversion to progressive and conforming the frame rate to 23.98).
I thought it looked cool, especially without artifacting.
