FS7: More Cards -OR- External Recorder

Josh - while I very much support your argument one may need to consider the workflow even further down the track.. if there is to be a transcode to prores before edit then at base one ends up with even more HDrives - both the source MXF files and the prores transcodes. At least one can have the backup just MXF.
 
As been mentioned previously, I too wouldn't record externally without recording internally.

Relying solely on external recording more than doubles the chance that a link of the chain can break. Call me paranoid but I always have backup & often backup for the backup.

Backup for the backup.. With an fs7.. Makes complete sense :violin:

4k external / HD Internal = all the backup you need
