C200: More C200 footage CVP

Seen these promos from Canon yet?

I must say, of all the sub $10k raw 4k cameras out there so far I like prefer the look of this one based on the above short.
Raw data rate is not much more than my D16, 1000Mpbs vs 800+Mbps. So probably less than 4:1 compression for DCI4k vs DCI2k.

That was some of the first footage available when they announced the camera.

But I think it's mediocre...could just get a C300 and it would look the same.

For $7500, it really has to have that wow factor...which I know it can.

11. Do the damn buttons light up? Everyone has been asking, nobody will answer

I saw the C200 set up alongside the C300 Mark II today, in a dark room, presumably set up by the Canon rep in the same room. The C300 had its buttons illuminated, the C200 did not. Make of that what you will.

The buttons don't light up. In another thread, I posted close-ups of both bodies where you can clearly see the C200's buttons differ from the C300's, which lay over the white illumination caps. The C200's are plain like the other older cameras.

And Terry from TMS - who has had the camera in his hands - recently confirmed that they do not.

Nothing exceptionally creative in the grading for sure. I like the saturated colors of the food in the dish. I like the way it handles mixed lighting in the kitchen scene. Dynamic range and low light response seems to be pretty decent. No apparent aliasing or fixed pattern noise like the BMC's often exhibit. Always been a fan of Canon's color science in general.
