MONSTER FEST JURORS (surprise!)

I have some ideas for our Winter, Human Drama themed Fest, and I'm sure Zak can ask some people too since that's his real world festival milieux , but these were all contacts I made at Genre Fests this year.

The only reason I can think that we wouldn't do it is if we run out of contacts. Hopefully people that had such a good time will be willing to come back for future horror fests, and it would be great to have the genre fests come back with screening slots and and have more genre fests offer screening slots too.
 
Wouldn't think it would be hard to find some judges for the summer popcorn movie fests either....

Edit: and of course all of the other juries :beer:

We did a jury for TimeFest, and now for this HorrorFest. I would always want to see a jury of folks who are in a position to help our filmmakers take the next step up. I think Jack's picks of festival directors is an excellent choice.

You may be right. My point was that I've been out mixing it up in the genre fests to an excessive degree (with a few straight fests) and Zak has been out mixing it up to an excessive degree in straight fests and fests that value subtle Drama. So those are the two groups of people that I know two mods (Zak and I) have access to. Depending on what the Summer Popcorn fest is we may be able to pool from those resources. Barry got some big people in from Time Fest. Who knows what other mods may have hiding in their back pockets, but that's why I mentioned Horror and Human Drama fests.
 
Oh no argument there. It's just with the introduction of the jury for TimeFest, I'm sure alot of us welcomed the thought that a consistent panel would be introduced in the final round of each fest. When there was none for Lossfest, the assumption was that there would be one for Questfest (especially with the screening in LA being a big deal for us), but there was none there either.

Some consistency would be cool I think so we all know what to expect.
 
I'm sure their maybe a few among us that can contribute to this list of connections. The only problem is that they cannot enter the fest if a suggested juror is chosen.

As for consistency. I'd feel comfortable committing to something like 1 a year at this point, maybe. I'm flattered that you consider us such Hollywood insiders that we can put together cool people for each fest simply by wanting to, but we may not be the super connected Hollywood insiders that you think :)

If, however, we can get good jurors on board, people that it would be worthwhile for you guys to screen for, we'll do it. My rolodex isn't that long though. Barry got the folks on board for Time Fest, who knows how many more people like that he has in his rolodex. Perhaps tons. Perhaps a few. Maybe in between. Who knows? Only the Shadow knows ...

Hmmm. Well they could just be ineligible for the Jury award maybe. Wouldn't effect our usual audience system.

Human Drama Fest is just the generic term for the type of fest we usually have in winter, like Horror Fest would be the type of fest we have in Fall. It's usually:
Fall: Horror
Winter: Human Drama
Spring: Popcorn / Blockbuster
 
Rodney, great idea, sound familiar.. but how about this, "The Goats that Stared an MEN - while eating popcorn!"
