Monitor

Hi:
I am in the process of getting ready to shoot a short and would like to know if I can hook up a standard older, TV to the DVX100b to use as a monitor. And how would I do it? Until now, I have just played the scenes back in the LCD on camera, but I've been told this cuts off a portion of the frame. Sorry for the newbie question.

Hey,
I am using an old 13 inch crt tv as a monitor. I just plug the A/V cable from the dvx to the tv and away you go. Works great for me.

I know someone said there are no stupid questions, but I'm testing that theory now. Can I have the camera plugged in during the shoot to view the action as it is happening as well as use it to check out the footage later?

yeah you can plug it into an monitor to watch it while it's happening, you don't even have to record anything and it'll show you what the camera sees

this is when the dvx is in Camera mode

put the DVX in VCR mode and playback your footage and it will play on the monitor
