"MODEL / PHOTOGRAPHER" - an ELOQUENT GRAFFITI prelude – a film by SABI

PRODUCTION UPDATE
Last night MARY ELISE HAYDEN and I shot a scene for ELOQUENT GRAFFITI. the "footy" turned out really well. I have the hugest love/hate relationship with this Nikon. it's so small and compact I can go anywhere with it and no one bugs me because they think i'm a photographer. they just wonder why my flash never goes off. I can swap out lenses, it is INTENSELY cinematic given the operator has an eye for composition, color and luminance. on the other hand, the compression is a killer and softens the image to the degree that it might as well be SD blown up to HD, and its only 720p HD.

MARY ELISE is really compelling in the scene. I will post some screengrabs later. and if you're wondering... no, we don't have the script yet. still developing the story. :)

Mark, I'm surprised you didn't kill yourself with that thing. Found it hysterical. Probably would have been a good idea to have the first flight outside where no lamps can interfere. :)

Zak - I'll take a look at the footage later today. Looking forward to it!

nice footage dude. was that all with available light? had to be for the subway. The D90 is amazing in low light conditions., its good to see how well it performs in normal lighting situations

Rogan, you are being too kind. :) visionary? i just like making pretty pictures of pretty people.

Puck, yes... all available light. we scouted for locations where the light was inherently dynamic and conducive to what we want to shoot.

see the picture next to it with the pen light she's using to line up the needle in the groove? i took it from her and started waving it around in front of her face. :)

nice. very nice Mr Forsman. I'm limited on my dramatic use of gels this time around and have yet to come up with a cool lighting scheme. colored lights... a practical light.. now there's a thought....

in the last six months I've actually befriended Arin Crumley, and Lance Weiler, as I F*cking Hate You was the winner of their From Here To Awesome project. Both have been a guiding force as I experiment with the evolving principles of indie filmmaking, so there is a bit of bias when I say "yes, I am a Four Eyed Monsters fan." and luckily for me, Arin was an IFHY fan. :)

I wish I could drum up the kind of drama that went on in the FEM podcasts. Haha! Why do you ask?

I am a fan as well, and while all your podcasts have had hints of Four Eyed Monsters, in the latest one, when you have yourself saying what the podcast is going to look like while we see it ("cast does intro, then titles, then cut to me"), it seems VERY Four Eyed Monsters.

That was a long sentence.

They let us in on the process of making the podcast, as do you. One of my favorite Four Eyed Monsters podcast moments is when Arin is trying to get his and Susan's heads to be the same size in the frame.

Oh man Four Eyed Monsters podcasts had so much drama. I remember watching all of those in one day and just being floored.

You should just create some drama like that for the next podcast.
