+1 Also add shock when push record button while moving camera to other position and push button (off ) again to film.

It's a little voice that whispers in your ear whenever your framing doesn't strictly adhere to the rule of thirds. It's called The Film School PA. Only costs $100,000 in student loans.

A smaller Odyssey wouldn't be bad, but even better would be an Odyssey with a very bright screen, and of course support for the Varicam LT. :)
 
"Something wonderful" would be one of the following rumors coming true:

* Sony 18-105mm f/2.8 with improved electronic focus and manual iris ring like that of the Sony 85mm GM.

* Sony 16-50mm f/2.8 servo zoom, par focal, manual iris ring, IS.

I doubt that Sony would produce a manual focus / manual iris lens ( zoom or prime ). A "Cine Alta" zoom. Seems that Sony's brief venture into true "cine" lenses left a bad taste in their mouth and they are now fully committed to electronic lenses seeing as the Fs7, Fs5, and A7s all included AF and AE capability in their design.

I do hope that what Mitch is teasing is a new zoom lens and not some new Odyssey or other piece of kit that isn't a zoom lens. I'm a glass man and always have been. Less interested in the bits that ride atop.

EDIT: It appears that what one characterized as "something wonderful" has turned out to be a total nightmare and job killer for many.

I think that everything Convergent Design does is Something Wonderful. ;-)

That said, there are lots of glass announcements coming out this week. I will not characterize them but I will say that there is a great variety and I think there will likely be products you are interested in. For instance two new Angenieux zooms just announced a few hours ago.
