MIDNIGHT CHRONICLES - 1st Trailer & Website!!!

This was posted over the summer, I guess they're getting closer to the finish line with this. Anyhow, it still looks great! And hope to see the finished film soon.

Thanks for the responses everyone! (And sorry about posting this in the wrong thread)

The mic we used was an Audio Technica 4073a.

wOw! Very nice. Is this for theatrical release or DVD only?
Hey Aram! Thanks for posting! Currently we only have plans to release on DVD, but we are also exploring our new media opportunites (downloadable content - like iTunes, or some similar entity)

I think it's awesome. I watched the trailer like a bazillion times and was showing it off to people. Love the work, its very cinematic. When my bro saw it he said "that's film!"
"No, it's not," I said. "It's HD." SO COOL!!!

BTW, I'm a huge Pete Jackson fan, naturally I like stuff in this (fantasy) venue.

Plenty more stuff just added to the website, HD trailer and behind the scenes stuff.
PS web team it would be a good idea to have the trailer as a download rarther than just an open window presentation.
Espescialy for a 123mb hd trailer, also just helps spread the word of the film !!!

Very nice indeed.

I am very interested in green screen, and was wondering if you could share what software was used for keying?

thanks

All the wide shots are absolutely stunning! More "dirty" and closer to life than any wide shot in LotR series. It's the close-ups that i'm not diging as they look a bit too "studioish" you know the way half-developed made for TV dramas look. That said if you keep filling the in-betweens with such stunning wides, then WOW!

Yeah. Even if this was posted months back--

This is a great production. I love your BTS. I can't wait to pick up this DVD, guys.

I'm agreeing with Patryk on your wide shots. They're crazy clean and very VERY cinematic. I'm impressed every time I watch.

yeah i was extremely impressed until i saw it was an hvx production. still impressed, though, just not as much.
what does this mean..think you should be even MORE impressed when seeing it was done with the hvx and not on film..!

Or what you wanna say?

Very very nice..!

Can you tell us somethnig about your postpro-process?
Would be interested in which programs you did keying, cc etc. and how you monitored it to have a good external control for cc..!?
:dankk2:

Again, thanks for the comments everyone!

As you might have guessed, MIDNIGHT CHRONCILES is heavily laden with FX shots and requires a ton of VFX work. We currently have a small team of über-talented artists who work every day - Mon-Fri here at our studio. They use a combination of software to accomplish our shots, but the big three are:

Shake for compositing, Photoshop for matte paintings, and Maya for everything 3D. We're looking forward to putting together our VFX segment of the behind the scenes documentaries for our website. I think your heads will spin when you see how some of this stuff came together!

I'd like to know more about those sets. Did you guys build them or were they already standing? If so, where were they standing?

I like you post the trailer so us poor people on their sisters computer can see a windows copy of the trailer.

But from the stills etc., looks great.
