Hello everyone! Just wanted to announce the launch of our official Midnight Chronicles website and trailer!

Midnight Chronicles is a fantasy film based on Christian T. Petersen's role-playing game (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com) and was shot entirely on the HVX200 in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We wrapped principal photography on August 31st, 2006 and are now well into post-production!

Please check out our site if you get the chance and drop us a line on our forum board! Thanks!

Man this is soooo good in every way. I can't believe how amazing this looks. I don't know how much you guys spent on this, but it looks like millions. Hell of a job!

that is unreal. Yes i too would like to know which mics were used, for the narrating as well as on set.

Very beautiful. Only say this because it came before, but very lord of the ringesque, which i see only as a huge compliment as it was am asterpiece to achieve.

i'm going to be the dick and say that my only complaint is that it's super derivative. THAT SAID, it does look pretty spectacular, I particularly like the make-up. The CG is super impressive too.

i should suggest you move this to the HVX screengrabs section when you get a chance.

Pretty. Damn. Impressive.

I went to college in MN. It's great to see something like this being produced there.

I think this is a different guy posting the trailer up. You can find more information if you search for "MIDNIGHT" under HVX200 grabs specifically.

I'm not sure if this is the actual camera operator this go around, but the last guy gave some info on it.

Very nice...It makes one very curious about the budget... It looks like you had one :)

Thanks for the responses everyone! I'll try and answer a couple of the questions above:

1) The director of photography and camera operator was Lee Sandberg - a DP from St. Paul, MN. (not me, I'm part of the post-production coordination and website development)

2) We shot in 720p in a small warehouse just outside Minneapolis. LOTS of green screen and set pieces! When we weren't shooting interior sets in the studio we were on location in areas around Pepin, WI and Chaska, MN.

3) While I'm not at liberty to divulge our budget at this time - I can tell you that we had a full-time crew of about 15-20 individuals, plus rental of the studio and grip package, material costs for sets, and various fees for locations and misc resources outside the studio. (Plus the usual craft service, expendables, travel costs, etc) So long story short - we had a budget to work with. A MODEST budget for the size of the project, but a budget none the less. (Nice and vague eh! :) )

Our rough-cut is being assembled as we speak. We're looking forward to showing off some of our newer footage and FX heavy shots on the website in the near future. Again, thanks for taking a look!

just watched it again on the HD version, as well as the behind the scenes.

Question : Around 3/4 of the way through the trailler, is there a reason one of your characters has an ear ring hole in his left ear?

i've already posted in the DVX section, but i just wanted to say that was absolutely amazing.

Great work, love the epic ones.

Just a quick quesiton though. Around 3/4 the way through, is there a reason one of your characters has his left ear pierced?
