has anyone used these class 6 cards in the 150? I have a job to shoot tomorrow
and i plan on picking up some more to use in my camera since i dont have time
to overnight any Transcends.

Some end up working fine, some don't. Just test the hell out of them today. Make sure you use the highest quality to test the max write speed.

I bought 4 16GB for $26.99 a piece... i recorded 1080 30P on PH mode nonstop without any problems, so far soo good!!!... i will be buying some Transcends soon (you can never have enough space or batteries)

all of mine except one (i have over 15 of them all 8gbs) have worked flawlessly for me, not problems whatsoever. although i did drop one and step on it on accident and it broke the lock switch off and the casing started to come off, but it still works. good stuff.

for generics, those microcenters are an excellent deal! transcends are up over $40 each
now. I bought 3 ispgs thursday, and used them non stop thursday night and friday,
no problems. 100 minutes per card at 720p60

I have three of the 16gb cards and they seem to work great. I wouldn't be surprised to find out they are made by someone like Transcends.

30 bucks for 16gb isn't bad at all. have never ever heard of microcenter before though so that makes me hesitant from jumping on that deal. Seems like everybody's getting a good response from these cards though.

I buy from this store alot... it helps that they are about 15 minutes away, I asked around the sales people and try comparing the cards to make sure they didn't look like a "ADATA" microcenter branded card.
Is hard to know who makes it for them, but they seem to work prety good...
No complaints by me so far.

Do different cards produce different qualities of the footage when transcoding? Maybe there are very subtle differences... tiny changes in quality

No. They are just storing data.

The risk in cheap cards would come from the manufacturer using cheap components that aren't QC'd and that have a higher rate in possible failure.

Amazon has Transcend 16G for $39.50 with free shipping here: http://tinyurl.com/AmazonTranscend16g

Microcenter looks like $30 + $6 shipping, for a total of $36, making the diff is $3.50 (not sure if they also charge tax on a latter screen).

If folks here trust the Transcends more to consistently serve up corruption-free files, I'll gladly spring for the difference. But if the consensus is that it's truly apples to apples, might as well save the few bucks per card.

Of course this is moot if you live near a microcenter and absolutely positively must have them right now, as the original poster did. But as someone ordering and willing to wait a week, I'm leaning towards the Transcends through Amazon.

I just picked up a Patriot 32GB at Fry's this afternoon for $90... Anyone try Patriot before?

I have 15 days to return it and supposed to get my cam next week, so I'm hoping to give it a shot.

Did you actually use the lock? Is this how it broke? I used mine once then never again. I wonder if not using will help keep this from happening.
