Mic options under 150.00?

I was looking at this for the gh1 to improve my sound quality drastically:

but what other options are there? i think i saw a rode mic? how does that really compare to this?

also the atr55 looks like a mono plug... does that mean my audio will only be on the left or right channel? will I have to copy and paste the audio file so that I can have L & R audio in post?

Yes it's mono.

I have one and used it in this vid I already posted http://www.psynema.com/?p=378 all on ATR-55 directly into the GH1

Nah just stuck with mono

Mono does not mean that it will only come out of one speaker. Most if not all professional Microphones record in Mono.

A Mono voice is then made stereo.......

how do I make a mono voice into stereo in fcp?

I only really use the sound out of this for reference for syncing with a boom mic in post, and maybe for events. It's great. Philip Bloom and Robert Rodriguez use it for their reference audio!
