that's actually a real good idea.

But the bottom line is that what this camera needs is more places onto which stuff can be mounted.

A camera should have the potential to mount 1-2 wireless receivers, a light, or firestore type device -- in addition to your mic of choice.

That mic arm should have been easily removed -- and rapidly convertable to another cold shoe onto which other devices can be mounted.

This camera needs 3-4 of these shoe attachment places.

That's what I thought too.....which is why I came up with my solution.
It works really well, and was mentioned above by Samcam (thanks !).
check it out at www.thej-rod.com and you can have 3 shoe mounts on your V1.
