Metering on the 60D (and immediate Canon family)

I think I read that the Canons have a slightly different ISO Rating than what they say. Am I remembering (and expressing) that correctly?

A.

I find my T2i reads about 1/2 to 2/3 of a stop low. This making the footage a bit hot coming in if I believe the meter. This is on my manual glass so it may be an issue of the non-matrix metering.

I've found I have to dial my LCD a few clicks darker to judge exposure more accurately, too. I shot some footage, copied it to my mac, and opened it in both my NLE and in the camera and eyeballed the difference. This isn't incredibly precise, since it just grays out any blown out highlights... so use caution.

I, too, have my LCD display dropped two clicks in brightness. It is more accurate, but one should always note that it is still not a perfect representation of what you are recording.

I haven't heard anything about the Canon's having a slightly off-point ISO rating, but rather that the meter can be hotter or darker than the actual recorded footage, so its best to use a combination of tools - histograms, LCD, light meter, your eyes - to get the best exposure.
