GH4 Metabones EOS speed booster

No, remove 6 screws on back of lens (4 on metal, 2 holding electronic contacts). Then the plastic shroud just snaps off (clips holding it in place). I can post pix if necessary.
Can you share some pics of the process or result? Could you reattach the shroud? thanks

PS mine came today and its great.

Mine is great for Canon lenses. The 24-105 turning into a f/2.8 in AMAZING. The camera feels the same as my old 7D did, which makes me sooo much more comfortable with it. It's just amazing.

The downside is that about half of my Contax Zeiss lenses don't fit on the speedbooster. Looks like something is protruding out of the back and preventing it from attaching.

As a side note, all of my Contax lenses work well with my C/Y mount Speed Booster.

Too bad they didn't make this newly released EF mount SpeedBooster Ultra.

the adapter arrived this morning. Packaging from metabones is getting better. Hard plastic case to protect the adapter. I like that. Snug fit. Now i can enjoy using my "L" lens. :)

The Speed Booster arrived this morning, a day before it was scheduled by FedEx.

Fit's great, & initial impressions are good, but noticed one odd behavior. Haven't tried all my EF lenses yet but when mounting the 24-70/2.8 & 24-105/4 the GH4's display shows the maximum aperture as 1-stop faster, however the 24/1.4, 50/1.2, & 85/1.2 aperture readout does not show the same improvement.

Eric also reported that his 24-105 jumps from f2.8 to 16. I tested out my 24-105 and couldn't duplicate the same. I tested out 85L, 24-105, 24-70mk ii, 70-200mk ii and they're all work properly.

Bubble,

If you get a chance would you mind checking what's the maximum aperture the GH4 reports for your 85/1.2?

Thanks,
Bern

Yeah, but I was hoping for an adapter that would work for my canon adapted CY glass and native. I might need to shave down the back of a couple of them...

I know the advice is for 3rd party lenses, but have you tried registering the lens with the speedbooster? Info here:

I had that issue with my 24-105 yesterday when trying to cycle quickly between apertures 4 at a time. It would reset to f/16 and then I had to reselect the aperture I wanted. Also had one hard lockup where I had to take the battery out.

It doesn't jump from but starts at 2.8. The IS does do some funky hard shake if I scroll to fast through the iris settings

4 screws for the rear metal mount, 2 for electronic contacts. Shroud is simple clip on. By removing the metal mount, it is easy to release the shroud. I'm thinking of cutting off the rear rubber and section of the shroud that hits the speed booster glass so that the lens has better protection for the exposed circuit boards.

You sir.... ROCK! that was so easy! But, my lens STILL doesn't fit my chinese lens turbo. Oh well, it was worth the shot!

it picks up where you left off on your last f-stop. If you have your last f-stop at f9 for example, turn off and turn back on, it will be at f9.
