Ok, the title and the quote in the thread made me feel like this is a parody of some sort, some kind of goofying around....but did you prove me wrong!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best films in here, I expect it to be in the Top10 easY!!! It has great directing and lighting, great VFX, probably in the Top5 in that area. The acting is generally excellent!!! Sound could be a bit better but still tops the average in the fest.

All in all,one of the few complete productions that have a meaning, a start, a middle, an end, and feel like real films. LOVED THE TWIST, NEVER SAW IT COMING!!!!

ps. when I first saw the kidnapper hold the phone with the yellow rubber gloves I said to myself 'was he doing the dishes?'...and thought about putting that as a 'what bothered me' comment....then I saw it was the house wife...so yeah, she would wear those definitely!!!!

Thanks, we tried to have fun with the dialogue. My favorite line is probably "Great. Let me have it."
 
I really enjoyed this. The crippled woman's acting was really good!

For me personally I hate the associtation of horror and metal, so the last few seconds really took it down a peg for me. But thats being very petty! The rest of it I thought was a very enjoyable and very well paced flick. In my top 10 for sure.

Review | POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT! I watch the movies first time around strictly for enjoyment, second and third for review.


Whoo boy were you hyping yourself up. I gotta say that it's pretty decent, a top 10'er. Here's my review for what it's worth.

Script - You had a solid concept for sure. Cannibals and twists. I dunno how necessary it was to have all these twists and turns just to get the two people into the place to murder them. Am I wrong to assume that they love the games and the hunting? If so then it works on all levels. Pretty nasty, but it works. Great horror script, dude.

Direction - I don't have a lot to say on this subject. To be honest, I didn't see anything that jarred me as complete distinct and professional, but I also saw nothing that screamed amature, either.

Acting - Way cheesey. WAY cheesey. Your best actor was the crippled chic, which drives me to believe this was supposed to be as cheesy as it was. Was it done on purpose? I dunno. Could've been.

Cine/Lighting - Clean. I think my monitor has issues because I'm seeing a lot of flat entries this fest. I'm going to try to adjust to something I know should not be flat and then have another look-see. I think it was well lit, though. Nothing too dramatic until you get to the lighting on the scene where your crippled gal is about to get done in.

Editing - I wasn't a fan of the split screen search scene. It pulled me out of the entire thing, maybe because I'm dense and I don't want to have to look at what they're both doing to try and figure out who's doing what. Otherwise it was sewn together fine. That's the only qualm I had with the edit.

Sound - Very clean sound. Very clean sound effects, a very clean soundtrack all together. I think your score was quite cheesy as well but it fits with the material, so I'm cool with it.

Special Effects/Art Direction/Wardrobe - Wooooo boy some bloody stuff. I liked the knife slash to the cheek, the removal of the knife from the chest. Nice nice nice. I also even thought the pile of meat at the end looked REALLY gross. Like, it didn't just look like steak, but like it was taken from a human. GROSS!!!!!


Scariest Moments - Cheek slice, by far. The slash to the cheek was effective even if I didn't see it.

Overall consensus - Pretty solid horror short. I would've loved to see it taken seriously. I think it would've gone a REALLY long way if you took it seriously instead of walking the cheesey route. I'm sure a lot of people are fine with it, I'm just speaking for myself. Either way, a top ten short. GOod job guys.

OMG! That was great! Everything was spotless!

Maybe I am too inexperience to know anything, but this film was a solid, well made and complete effort!!! The actors were perfect!

Outstanding. I can't think of anything to comment on. The only thing would be that I felt that the woman who sliced the nerd was too far away from him to inflict the damage, but that is SMALL POTATOES!!! When I watch this a second time, I may have a different opinion. But as I said, that is nothing.

Well done! Congratulations! One of the top 10 movies, if not top 5!

This had the look of a professional, high budget film. Great camera work, editing, sound, images... I am just floored!

KUDOS to you!

Now, I need to go eat some MEAT!!!

Thanks everyone, there were so many things we learned in doing this. We were worried about how the blood stuff would come out, so it's very gratifying to hear that it's working.

whoa i liked it a lot! GREAT STORY! .....BUT FOR ME THE ACTING WAS AWESOME! THOSE WOMEN WERE GREAT! GREAT ! GREAT! AND THE MEN WERE GREAT! GREAT! they played off each other soooo wellll....... gawd what a relief! to see some acting and a story to boot! the best scared scream drool coming out! and vindictive bi tch yeah! she was great! .............sorry i've been watching these all nite. this is top 2 or 3 or one...1 I have to look them over again. of course the shots were excellent d.p.. good direction!
 
Thanks Kimko. The process with the actors was very interesting. We did a "workshop" night where we got the actors together and went through the script with them. We all worked out the dynamics of their relationships and their back stories. They drew on this during their performances, which I think gave the movie a little more reality beyond the time frame of the story itself.
 
Well I watched it again, to get another perspective and I noticed this time that this thing has some amazing sound! All the blood, the chainsaw, the crawling on the floor, cutting the meat...everything is there.

Well done again. I really like this entry.

It is a good movie. I bet you will like it! I was interested in it because of the hype and shameless promotion, and it did not dissapoint!
 
My friend and I both had that happen. The problem was that we had closed the window or the computer had gone to sleep while downloading, and the computer thought it had downloaded the whole thing. Try emptying the cache in your browser, or in your Quicktime software, go to the Browser tab and uncheck "Save movies in disk cache."

Let me know if that helps.
 
Just finished watching this film. I think I've seen just about everything now and this was a great way to end horrorfest in my opinion. I really enjoyed this one. Nice twists, great FX, and a cool little story to boot. I especially like how violent this film gets (when the guy is dragging the crippled girl and starts beating her...so messed up!); it's dark and edgy moreso in a structure sense. The ending with the kid is wicked dark too; excellent job guys!
