C300: Matching C300 Mark II to Mark I

The production is using a few Mark Is but i prefer my rig (which is Mark II). They are filming in "Wide DR".
What's the best way to "downgrade" my c300 mark 2 to match mark 1's "Wide DR"????

Set the C300 II to Wide DR, set the same Color Space, and Matrix to the C300 I (or do tests and pick the closest looking).

[Edit]: reading the C300 I manual, there doesn’t appear to be a Color Space option and the Matrix is probably a bit different. Perhaps look at the C300 II Wide DR preset and see what Color Space and Matrix are used and check results compared to the C300 I. I’m sure you can get them pretty close with some experimentation.

You could also try using Canon Log on the C300 I, and using the default Canon Log preset on the C300 II.

I've had good luck setting the EOS C300 Mark II to Gamma: Wide DR, Color Space: BT.709, Color Matrix: Cinema EOS Original.

However, the thing that makes the biggest difference are custom white balances. If you can have both the Mark I and the Mark II set custom white balances to the same grey card, that will do wonders getting the two closer in camera.

Outside of shooting log I don't think these cameras are a match for side by side shooting.
I don't care for the EOS original profile as it's way to contrasty and saturated IMHO. That may get close but it's not a profile I would use.

The senors are different on the C300 & Mk 2 version. I’ve had difficulty getting a great match for side by side shooting, which is to say its not impossible to get a match but its not as easy as one would think. I’ve gotten ‘close - ish’ on a working match between these 2 cameras but can’t say I’ve ever nailed it.
