Manhattan LCD

Regardless, the company really has done well.

My only complaint is that it seems to pretty often raise its prices.

I also wish there was a more convenient power solution.

any update to this?

Ive held off posting about this product out of respect for the potential singularity of my issue,
but I have had two problems so far within two weeks of owning it.
The first monitor I got was blown out of the box ( I received a letter after it was fixed saying I plugged it into the wrong power supply but know this isnt the case)
and when i got it back, the 1/4-20 female thread on the bottom of the screen broke off, into the case and has been rolling around since, making it impossible to mount to my jib.

The issue is they dont have any monitors in stock EVER. so i have to send it in, creating downtime for them to fix and send back.

They still havent fixed my thread issue because the monitor has been working (alligator clamped it to a cstand) but i need this fixed,
and I havent heard from them since Wednesday when i was supposed to contact about fixing it.

I am frustrated with the way my situation is being handled...

So I am curious, and I know there have a been a lot of LCD comparisons, but since this is a new one, I thought I would ask as I am in the market.

The Manhattan LCD looks like a very solid offering.

I am curious how the Manhattan HD089B compares to the new Marshall V-LCD70P-3GSDI as I am in the market to buy one.

The Manhattan one appears to be about 1/2 the price & larger screen, higher resolution, contrast & brightness.

Any drawbacks to it visually?

Well just looking at the photo real quick I can tell you quite a few things....RCA connectors instead of BNC, no SDI (Big $ difference there) and no loop through. True it does offer HDMI, something the Marshall 3GSDI version doesn't. But if you are comparing those two models there is a big difference in just connectivity.

Marshall is offering something with the feature set that could cost twice as much on another monitor. I was literally filling out the order form for a TV Logic 7" model because they were fantastic, needed a vDoubler too though...I was gearing up to drop over $2,300 on a comparably monitor system when this Marshal beauty came out! If you need SDI, and all the other features, it's a steal. I'm ordering mine as soon as my tax refund comes in, lol.

I would be using this with a 170 so I could certainly connect via the component signal.

Connectors aside, I am curious about the image quality between the two if anyone could possibly guess. The Manhattan has the larger screen, higher resolution, contrast & brightness (on paper.)

This is obviously one of those moments where you really have to see them side by side obviously to make an educated decision but I don't think that is going to happen.

I do have a friend who is apparently going to order the Manhattan so maybe I can do some testing with that.

But I really like the SDI connection on the Marshall for sure and the ability to use my panasonic batteries.

Dolgin is in the process of developing a small footprint converter ( a little bigger than the HVX battery) to generate 12V. It will power a monitor for about 3 hours using a 5600mah battery. Cost ~ $90-$100. Availability: April 2009.
I will buy this instead of a Tekkeon battery.
