Manhattan LCD

It seems to be a DIYer who started selling them. I think at this price might be worth a try... 1/3 of the price of the Marshall.

Just got mine about an hour ago. Worth every cent (and then some). Power it up and it senses what it's hooked up to (component inputs in my case). Very nice picture, more than sufficient for accurate focus.

I just got mine too and this thing is much better than expected. Like dregenthal said it worth its price by far and its quite good for accurate focus.

Time from order to delivery in Switzerland: 1 week + 1 day. I can't complain.

Enjoying mine too but was wondering if yours seems to be very sensitive to the direction it is placed in. If I angle mine slighly it gets way too light. I have to find the correct angle to view it. Even though the lightness controls are all the way down. Are all LCDs this sensitive to the angle you view it?

It really is tack sharp though and that is what I bought it for.

Maybe get some kind of shade for it? or is it not the glare that the issue?

I posted this (somewhere else), but anyway . . . "I gave up on getting ripped off on Noga (and similar) arms a long time ago . . . I use a Manfrotto 484 ball head attached to a Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging Quick Action Super Clamp, and attach it direct to the top carrying handle of my HPX170 or HVX200, or anywhere else that suits me (like the arm on the fluid head of my tripod)."

Got both pieces from B&H . . . funny thing is that I bought them almost two years ago for an entirely different purpose--they were just laying in my kit. I think it's superior to the "other" options from a price point and you have a more stable/beefier connection (with less/no shake). Another thing I like about it is that you can attach it to the tripod (head) arm, or to a spare light stand (that you, of course, would need to position pretty close to your tripod).

So what you need is a:
Manfrotto 484 Ball Head and a "Quick Action Super Clamp" by Bogen . . . you're looking at an investment of $82 plus a few dollars shipping.

Best.

P.S. There's supposed to be some kind of a hood coming out . . . until then cardboard works nicely.

David:

What are you using to attach the LCD to your cam?

What does it run?

Nope, glare is not the issue since I was doing the test in my studio with the lights off, except for my office light on way in the distance..It is just that I need to tilt the monitor dramatically in order to get a nice rich image or else it is washed out..Sharp mind you but washed out. Funny thing is that if I tilt the monitor upside down with the cables on the bottom, I only need to tilt the LCD a little bit in order for it to look good. Could the LCD have been placed in upside down?

Still waiting for a reply from the company. They have been very good in responding to questions..Good company so I am sure they will get back to me.

I simply love my monitor and get compliments on it all the time and it just looks expensive and delivers the goods for the money too.

Also.. FYI, I picked up a great case for this unit. It's a lowepro softcase and pelican style hardcase. it's wide enough to fit the monitor and all of the accessories including the battery. It's simply awesome and I picked it up at bestbuy of all places for like 40 bucks.

Another slimline and good case for this monitor is a gun softcase. You can pick one up for about 30 bucks and works really well as well. Just wrap the monitor in some soft padded material and you are off and running.

Is there any way to get a battery adapter hooked up to it so I can run my camera batteries on it?

Everytime I am about to order this thing something happens. This time The breaks went up on my car and my head light went out. the $400 I hid from wife now will go to MB. now I have to wait another 2 weeks.:crybaby:

Ive held off posting about this product out of respect for the potential singularity of my issue,
but I have had two problems so far within two weeks of owning it.
The first monitor I got was blown out of the box ( I received a letter after it was fixed saying I plugged it into the wrong power supply but know this isnt the case)
and when i got it back, the 1/4-20 female thread on the bottom of the screen broke off, into the case and has been rolling around since, making it impossible to mount to my jib.

The issue is they dont have any monitors in stock EVER. so i have to send it in, creating downtime for them to fix and send back.

They still havent fixed my thread issue because the monitor has been working (alligator clamped it to a cstand) but i need this fixed,
and I havent heard from them since Wednesday when i was supposed to contact about fixing it.

I am frustrated with the way my situation is being handled...
