i have had 900,000 hits on my clip up on youtube in the last 4 days , anyone know how to make any $$$ off of this? - nanaimo fire - will get you there. have put up some of my movie trailer clips and some vancouver island wildlife clips as well. channel is jetaddiction

If youtube hasn't already approached you about becoming a partner, you can apply. with 900,000 hits you should get it.

search
"youtube revenue"
"youtube partnership team"
etc and you should find info on how to join.
 
Just noticed your vid is under 30 seconds long. I believe that is too short to qualify for a youtube partnership. Maybe upload the same video with extra video on it.
 
You should be contacted about the partnership program. I have around 30,000 views on a video, and I was contacted about it at around 25,000 views I believe.
 
yes it is real . it is only 20 sec long . i spent 5 years making a great surf doc and in a year could only get 2000 people to check it out , then i take a crappy 20 sec of a lunitic acting like a idiot and wham 900,000 hits sinc e sat. go figure . i get a email every comment thats 2000 emails since sat . put a comment to check out my surf trailer and have had 500 hits since sat. i put some hand held 5dm2 wildlife footage up as well .new born deer , beaver shots , wild bear hdimages.ca

But stuff that you put after this clip is completely different so i dont know what you expect,stuff like that is not as entartaining like lunatics and psychos on stretcher ,get more footage with crazy acting people then maybe you will again get so many hits,pople are waiting and asking about that on your channel,thats for sure,but now make it longer as guys said.
 
it is over 1,080,000 hits and has 6500 favorites ( what ever that means ). i guess content is king. if i could only get the bear and beaver to finger the camera ! ha ha

Are YOU kidding? Look on youtube, videos with half that number of views have almost double the likes and comments. Regardless though, I'm pretty sure the odd ratio is because its only been getting popular for the past week. In time it'll have a much steadier view to like/comment ratio.

To the OP, I apologize if it sounded like I was accusing you, I was just curious, mainly because so many people "fake" the number of views on there videos these days in hoping to get notoriety. I found an article on you, though, confirming that it was indeed legitimate. But I do agree that they don't look for that kind of content videos to make partnership deals. There won't be a steady stream of videos that will become popular if its only a "lucky moment caught on tape" video.
 
I believe you usually need more than 1 video to be a full partner. Youtube will e-mail you for revenue share on individual videos that are popular based on their criteria even if you are not a partner. Thats why lots of people with not a lot of subscribers have a video or two on revenue share.

For full partner you need a combo of lots of views, lots of subscribers and "unique content" with no strikes or community issues. Subscribers are important.

well thanks for the info . i have had 1.2 million as of today wow that is only one week. i just put up some wild life new born deer clip and in 4 days it got 899 hits and now youtube sent me a invite to partner with the deer video but not the short 1.2 mil a week clip? i guess it is not long enough. i screwed up and deleted the invite that got mixxed up with the 1000 of email from the nanaimo fire clip. ..... so rally mat have you flown the 5d yet with the quad heli thing?

That explains all the hits. What a douchbag though. I cannot believe he's the 4th most subscribed channel on youtube. Do people really think he's funny? He reminds me of those stupid kids in middle school who used to pretend they're Jim Carey.
 
Usually if it contains copyrighted material they usually won't send you like an adsense. I haven't seen your video yet but I get contacted by youtube after 2k hits or so. I've gotten rejected a few times due to copyrights. Even a using a music ring tone can disqualify you.

Seems you have built a nice portfolio on youtube. So, for what are you waiting for? Just apply for partnership with youtube. Once they will receive your application, they will review your account and will consider different factors like the quantity of videos, how often you upload videos, views etc.

Once they approve and you will get what you want.
