I think the interlaced will give him that crappy look he's looking for. Interlaced at 30fps would be a good start to getting s**tty tv broadcast look. IMO.

30p looks more like 24p but at 29.97.

Thanks everyone! Ok so then, frame rate is one aspect - general consensus is avoid low frame rates, 50p, 50i will work (50hz countries)

What about scene file suggestion settings for a broadcast video look?

Definitely use HD NORM gamma and matrix NORM1. And turn the detail level up some, +2 or +3 should do it.
