main cam to GH13... GH2 or 5Dii?

Hi all,
I've gradually been moving towards DSLR for weddings and I find now that I keep cutting out my HMC150 footage as I prefer the GH13 stuff. I therefore need to go 100% DSLR now. The natural thing to do is use the Gh13 for 2nd cam and buy another main cam but I can't decide between the GH2 and 5Dii.

I'm not a fan of the mov files the canon cameras produce, they seem to be more demanding to edit for my pc than the m2ts. I do however like the fact you can adjust ISO whilst recording on the canon cams (I have a 60d so have based the 5d impressions on this). The main thing for me is low light performance. 5D's sensor obviously wins here but I've read than unlike the GH13 which is utter rubbish at anything above iso 500 with all the banding, the GH2 is much better.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on which cam you'd go for. At the moment the only thing about the panasonic cams is I'm using a cheap adapter so aperture is stuck open, I could go for the birger one but buying 2 of them is costly. All of my lenses are canon fit so obviously aperture would work fine on the 5D assuming the lens is compatible with full frame bodies.

I'm also in PAL land so no 25P on the Gh2 is a concern, but does it still shoot 50p at 720? If I need 1080 I could always shoot 24P I assume?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

ofc easier to intercut/grade GH1/2, i mean with 5D you have a totally different estetic, handling of colors/DR with 5D, and just the entire feel of the image. Not saying you CAN'T blend the footage, just that it's easier sticking to Panny. If your doing any coprporate work your 60D should fill in needs of the client

And yes, you get 25 out of 50 with ease. Many seem to have kept GH13 although they have GH2

As a video productions manager for a major wedding company in Dubai...
Go with the Panasonic solution.
I cant see a situation where you are shooting with 2 cameras for 1 scene. Its not like the photography part of weddings.
You have Prep (bride/groom/venue), Bride&Groom Fashion, ceremony (2 cams if you have an assistant), dinner, and party (MAYBE 2 cams).
I really dont see you having to switch between cameras for the video side... unless you have 2 cams going at once.
In regards to the NTSC/PAL; you basically will be distributing your final product to either: cloud based, DVD, .avi/.mkv, and the rare chance - Blue Ray.
In most of these scenarios, you will not need to worry about 24/25p

At the end of the day, I prefer the Panasonic... specifically: Video quality, ergonomics, size, compression, clip record time, and dynamic focus control.... (im sure there is more, just getting late tonight).
Caveat may be that I prefer Nikon (In your case Canon glass) over Panasonic...Limitations being that you sacrifice AF and lens stabilization.

We "used" 7D/5D and Sony HD cams for our shooting needs (Our Photographers where Canon based and so the video followed.) But you can see that each situation, we rarely ever used 2 different types of cameras. You shouldn't need to worry about "constancy" in video footage.

Some of my work can be seen here:

I've now opened my own business with my wife in Budapest.
We prefer Nikon for photos, but video end I went with the Panasonic GH2 with a Nikon Lens adaptor.

most of my videos are 2 cams though so having to match them up afterwards is key.

Yes I was originally going to get the AF-100 and discarded it but I remembered it again last night.. has the price come down since its launch? This could be the obvious choice for a main cam, bypassing all of this zoom H4N sync silliness!

Is the actual video quality of the AF-100 above the GH2 (which is in turn above the GH13 from what I've read)

The AF-100 doesnt have any issues with shooting 25p from what I remember readin?
