GH4 magnets and cameras. Bad idea?

I'm asking here for lack of a better place and because I'm thinking of this for use on a cage and gh4 setup.

My thought is to glue rare earth magnets in spots on my cage and the accessories I plan to use with it for quick change outs. IE juicedlink box, sennheiser wireless receivers, etc.

Got the idea after ordering the xume filter adapters which are brilliant in my mind, but not being an expert in the field of electro magnetics, thought i'd ask here to see if this is a bad idea that might affect the camera somehow. I suppose I could go with velcro... but that doesn't seem nearly as satisfying. Thoughts?

I know Magnets n Hard drives = a no no, Magnets n tapes = a no no, Not so sure about Cameras and accessories, but I can bet there's a reason nobody has made something like that yet. One reason is the strength of holding something in place while moving/holding/bumping…etc. your equipment. The filters probably would be small enough and not too bulky as to get bumped off. But wireless receivers, the juicedlink box n such are too heavy and bulky and probably lopsided to experiment with this kind of thing.

I ordered 3 "cold shoe" adapters from an amazon vendor for very little money. They have a 1/4x20 female thread on the bottom and a small thumbscrew on the side for locking the accessory in place. The Honu cage from photographyandcinema.com has 3 built in shoes and the GB series cages from the same company have both threaded and pass-thru holes on the top plate. The shoes I ordered work perfect.

My Nikon still camera manuals all have warnings about magnets near memory cards and near the speaker and mic holes. Don't do it.

If a cold shoe isn't fast enough for you, I don't know what line of work you're in - are people firing guns at you? There's a ton of rail-mount cold shoe and 1/4-20 rail mounts and clips on eBay, it's become a killer resource for oddball rail-rig building. Event the ones from Taiwan or China show up to the states in a matter of days. My Came Steadicam got here in 4, and that was their free ship option.

According to the XUME site, the magnet should not have any negative impact on the camera and/or media. They did a video to demonstrate that and I have no reason not to believe them. I doubt that they are willing to take any chance on potential legal lawsuit. Here is the link:

Btw, I have ordered their filter quick release adapters which should be here in a week or so.
