1DC: Magic Lantern

My interpretation based on following the ML forum and the comment board is that the ML team is not even interested in looking into the more expensive cameras. At some point, a Canon spokesperson made a statement in an interview that implied that Canon might pursue legal action if the ML team tried to transfer the 1DC firmware to the 1DX. In retrospect, it seems silly that Canon would take that position since the 1DC was such a bomb and did more to hurt their general DSLR sales than help. In reality, the ML team is spread so thin trying to keep up with the consumer DSLR's that Canon keeps dropping every couple of months that they can barely keep working builds available for the cameras that have been released in the past few years. At this point, the whole ML revolution on Canon is starting to wear itself out and you can tell that the original team is starting to get out of the game.

Well, when you have GH4, A7s and NX1 out there - not to mention the fully guaranteed 4K recorders/monitors - there's not that much point in making Canon's 1080p video better.

What truly made ML great wasn't an improvement in video quality. It was all of the features that it added to the camera. The ML team took a consumer camera and added more shooting options, tools, aids, and features than any fully loaded professional camera on the market. Like I said in a previous post, I would pay really good money to have those features on the 1DC, but it will never happen.

That's a good point but aren't the features that used to be rare now common place?
