Magic Lantern for 7Dii

Does anyone know if Magic Lantern is or will be ported to the 7d2? I need a new DSLR for stills and as a B cam, so I would be very interested in this.

I've seen RED and 5D used together on big films, so I'm assuming it would work, but I wouldn't know without testing. I still have my old T2i, though it doesn't work great anymore, but maybe I'll try some tests. I will say though, I'm shooting ProRes 422 at 1080 on the Ursa Mini and last week decided to do a test. I filmed my truck in the snow with the Mini, then again with the T2i. I matched all the camera settings by the numbers-ISO, WB, Fstop. Film mode on the Mini, VisionColor on the T2i. Here is the result of that test:

Definitely different color spaces being used, so matching by the numbers is out. This weekend I'll try to match by eye. Seeing these side by side really makes me see just how soft the Canon image is with it's built in video. And I love that my Mini has no more aliasing, moire, or rolling shutter :)

If you or somebody you know or even somebody you know knows could please develop ML Raw for the 7D2, many users would be incredibly happy. Raw video on the 7D2 would be amazing. Tell somebody.

The 5D3 ml raw is phenomenal. Does anyone think they could make the 7d2 rival it? I imagine the focus would make it quite useful.

7D Mark II, mostly will not have ML, is a totally different software to previous models in the Canon line (Extremly hard to crack), However I think that with a external recorder
This camera is great recording 4.2.2. Prores, Has clean image (No Moire), Clean HDMI out.
At the moment 4K is not an issue since 4K content, can not be played even with Blu-ray, on the web has major issues with Bandwidth in most of the planet.
Future proof to does not exist , no body knows what comes for the future, 8K ? ,
For features 4K is a good idea if you are into that market

Have you used the 7D2 with an external recorder? If so, which one?

They all work fine : Ninja 2 , Ninja Blade, Ninja star

Yeah, I know they work but I was wondering if you had personal experience with one. I'm sure they all work but how's moire and aliasing since it bypasses internal processing? How does the codec present colors and exposure compared to internal? I was thinking of getting a couple of Ninja 2's ( I have 2 7D2 bodies) and haven't seen many good examples online.

Yes use the mirror feature, and judge by the camera screen, think the ninja is a recorder like the star but with ssd, that is how I use it
at the advertising agency I work for .

Cool, thanks anyways for the insight and for your replies - greatly appreciated. I'm considering picking up a couple of Ninja 2's and selling my GH4. I really like the Canon colors. I like 4K too but I don't find it a necessity for what I'm doing right now.

I just wish there was a way to get Canon Log on the 7D2. Also hoping that Canon will eventually unlock 4K with a firmware update - yes, it's capable.
