I'm sorry, what do you mean ?It's for debugging only...
And that is the answer to my problem...Split effect is best noticed when focusing on some vertical objects (it's always horizontal).
The problem: this trick only works when you rotate the focus ring and cross the perfect focus point
HeheSci-Fi indeed
No.
Hehe CF01... "great minds think alike" ? :thumbsup:Maybe the record button can be made to switch picture styles before actually starting the recording? You would still be looking at cinestyle while recording, but it would save you the step of going into the menu and selecting cinestyle after exposing for your other picture style. Maybe having a button on the camera to toggle between two picture styles whenever pressed would be a good idea too?
I was always trying to figure out what does he mean by that...I(not just for focusing, but for lighting too: shane hurlbut uses two different picture styles, neutral for lighting, then technicolor for shooting; he says trying to light with an ultra flat picture style leads to chronicly underexposing)
I work @ 1.5 (roughly 55-56 avarage / 65 peaks). I don't know how do you get 60 with x1.3... (maybe PEAKS are @ 60)What's the fastest speed that people have been able to write to their SD cards using the CBR encoding mode without it stopping? I just got a new class 10 card and it will only do CBR 1.3(about 60mbps average).
I'm not sure if its up to the card or the camera has its own finite limit. I know that one guy that checked UHS (ultra high speed cards that rate at 45MB/s) said it is actually SLOWER then 30MB/s Sandisks. My understanding is that class 10 should be able to do a sustained 80mbps.
This is possible. But it will bite you when you will want to record with another picture style (i.e. you will select Portrait, for example, and it will switch back to cinestyle).Maybe the record button can be made to switch picture styles before actually starting the recording?
Not unless you are :This is possible. But it will bite you when you will want to record with another picture style (i.e. you will select Portrait, for example, and it will switch back to cinestyle).
(which isn't , in your words "really straightforward")adding a menu which allows you to customize keyboard shortcuts
IMO its too convoluted. if you can, leave it as a last resort (setting PS in ML and in Canon Menu, separately)Or maybe an option named "Picture style for preview". You set this picture style from ML menu, and the recording picture style from Canon menu. Which would be the most intuitive way?
So maybe its not so Sci-Fi as you thought...I've used a custom picture style for preview only, but for stills. I've set one with high sharpness and high contrast, which was a pretty good alternative to focus peaking. But I was shooting RAW.
