T2i Magic Lantern for 550D in progress!

Used ML today for a scene. Somehow it stores a .LOG file for every movie, which it didn't before. What is this? Due to the fact that the SDHC-Card is bootable?

The log file is to help you in post production to figure out what settings you had used to film. ISO, aperture, focal distance, etc all stored.

Is this only readable over a text-editor? Can I turn it off somewhere? As I use old Nikkors it probably only will store correct ISO-values. Aperture is always showing 5.6f (but should read "none" or something).

nice!!

I'm also using vintage lenses, son aperture won't be stored, but I'll be thankful that I can check ISO and white balance

A tilt shift miniature mode would be darned cool. It is mostly related to a narrow focus area, but I don't know if there is other processing going on.

While I am at it, wouldn't it be possible to use the ISO wheel (if placed over the ISO-setting in the menu) to scroll through the values instead of using the set-button?

Damn Canon. :) Log disabling works great, shot a scene tonight. Still did get some nasty rainbowpatterns (with ISO 400) though, but that hasn''t to do anything at all with magic lantern.

Hi alex, Im using the January 26th build (i believe so, the one where you introduced log files, but not to toggle them) and have run into some issues, all involving the long exposure feature.
First off, Im a little confused about the seconds listed as options for the seconds. They seem to follow a patern after 80, doubling with every incrament. This causes some strange times (if i wana do 5 min, 320s is the closest i can get, which is 5m20s) It would be nice to have seconds that round even to minutes, or even a display of min instead of seconds, because anything below 30, theres no reason to use your bulb timer. Also The shutter doesnt activate it with the timer, but the LCD sensor triggering does.

The major issue I found was when I did an hour long exposure with it (first ever), which worked fine (except my picture was extreemly noisy at iso 100, but i didnt have the long exposure NR on. Does anyone know if noise there is normal, compribale to iso 12800, and it ran for an hour and 11 seconds). Afterwords tho, It took a while to save the image, about 20s. Then after taking some normal reference shots, I did a 16 min exposure, which it got stuck trying to save. It sat on the "busy" and "saving Image" screens for about 7min before I ejected the battery. The camera is still working fine but I think it trippled my blood presure.

Also, I noticed if you press the Q button to change settings and then hit the bin to enter ML menu, the menu doesnt work and the camera does some weird jumping between screens.

Once again, Im an update behind, so I dont know if any of these are known/resolved.

Thanks for reporting. The latest build uses these values: 1,2,5,10,15,20,30,60,120,300,600,900,1800,3600 (and high values are displayed in minutes). The bulb timer only works with remote triggers and intervalometer (read the manual).

The second issue sounds like the stability problems from late 2010 builds, which seem to caused by too much static memory allocated by ML. I hope this is fixed in latest build.

I did not notice any change in brightness by adjusting saturation in monochrome mode. Reset the picture style to default, that big negative number will be back and ML won't let you change this setting any more.

The false color doesn't seem to be working for me with the new build. There are more options using false color, but none of them are actually using false color. Please help. Thanks.

EDIT: press the flash button to activate false color. You know that user's guide comes in pretty handy.
