Tester13 increased the resolution of the GH1????
 
Is the inclusion of alternative video encoding methods possible with magic lantern? I really liked the level of sharpness I saw in the hacked GH1 AVCHD compared to the 7D.

All I can say DCloud is that Tester 13 showed everyone that much more is possible than you think. Maybe not the Aliasing (but it's certainly worth a look), but a sharper codec is very possible as it has already been done on the GH1.

I know, I have been using the hack on mine for awhile now. I just thought I would have him explain it, this larger resolution thingy misinformation he was speaking of :happy:
 
Is it accepted wisdom that the hdmi monitoring issue with the T2i/550D is too bound up with hardware issues for ML to successfully sort out?
 
You're right BradM. Sorry for misinforming everyone. I should have said Tester 13 made the "Image Quality better" on the GH1. It's a good thing you're a stickler for these things.
 
gh1 and the t2i both have a different sensors.

gh1 apparently produces a much 'resolute' image natively and t2i does not.
tester didnt touch the sensor settings to make it "sharper" he just increased bitrate which doesnt really affect sharpness.

what your asking is not impossible but highly improbable to happen.
the 5d hack has been out for almost 2 years and no progress has been made on the sensor. im just telling you, its more feasible to add menu items, disable and enable features but not reprogram a sensor.
 
You could all be thankful someone is hacking the firmware, and take whatever he manages to come up with.

Apparently his work isn't good enough for some who just want more for free... "cuz somebody did it on the GH1", so he can do what they did for my T2i too.

Show some appreciation, or figure it out yourselves.

Steady on there Pookie, some of us are thankful & will be even more thankful with the extra features Trammell is planning to put in the firmware. :thumbsup:

I agree though, you want GH13 features get a GH1 :grin:

Yea I know there are the nice guys watching what Trammell comes up with, sadly there are those "others" piping up about wanting what others have done for "other" cameras. Those are who I was talking about...:thumbsup:
