Hey a1ex,

Was testing FPS override with the T3i and it shuts down with an Err70 as soon as you adjust the fps lower in 3x mode. Hadn't seen that mentioned and thought I'd give you a heads up.

Hello All, I a noob here... First I would like to say to Alex - Great job on the work you done. I have been waiting for video on my 50D and ML is just want I was looking for. Yesterday, I decided to update my Canon 59d firmware to the latest 1.0.8 and some reason decided to look for FW hack. So I installed the ML Xmas which was very easy. I'm still trying to learn all the different functions of ML. I was able to make a video but I can't figure out how to use playback (Its probably simple but duh me). I was able to copy the .mov to my PC and play it there but not from the 50D. I have my setting for for after taking a pic - Hold->Play. After taking the video, I hit the play button on the 50d but on the screen it say can not play pic. Someone please help...

Thanks,
YM

Another update on FPS override and the 3x zoom. It only works in 24p mode.

It does allow you to go to 3x in 30p mode now, but if you change to 3x zoom it changes the FPS to 31.397 instead of the 3.996 it shows in 1x. If you try to raise or lower the FPS in 3x mode it gives the error70 message. So in 30p and 3x mode you can only record at 31 fps.

Cheers,
Pete

Here's a feature requested many times, but until now considered impossible:

You can alter saturation in preview mode (for example, preview in grayscale or preview in high saturation). Recording is not altered, and neither histograms :)

This is something like an alternative to "REC picstyle", but works in real time.

The grayscale liveview is a great idea, but it's tough to go back and forth to check white balance. I forget that enough as is and don't need anymore reasons to forget about checking white balance :)

On another note, the shutter speeds shown are not the same now as before. I'm getting 1/31, 1/39, 1/48, 1/59 ...... Seems like before we were getting 1/30, 1/41, 1/48, 1/63 ......

I could be mistaken but they seem to change to odd numbers after linking and unlinking shutter to angle. Just curious if that just me or something else new going on.

Cheers,
Pete

For white balance you may want to try the opposite setting - very high saturation. Or check it on the vectorscope.

For odd shutter speeds, do you get 1/60.000 in NTSC when Canon shows 1/60? If not, what number do you get in Expo menu?

In PAL, you should get 1/33.333 and 1/50.000.

I downloaded the latest Jan 24th and that gives good numbers all the time except when in 3x mode. Then it shows 1/62.900 and so on. When I switch back to 1x it now goes back to 1/60th.

I think the original version with the vectorscope would get lost when I'd go back and forth between 1x and 3x, then even crazier if I went to FPS override and 3fps.

Cheers,
Pete

I have a question that would probably sounds stupid, but I've installed the latest version for a while, and since November 25th, I can't get the cropmarks to work...only one actually works. All the other features of the firmware works fine, but there's the cropmarks that don't want to work, any idea? I've tried formatting the card, reinstalling from the beginning but still, the cropmarks don't work.
Thanks a1ex.
