Magic Lantern count down for 7D

I think a lot more "consultation" goes on between all these large Japanese multi-nationals than we will ever know. But I do think the genie is out of the bottle and there's no stopping the DSLR revolution. I worked on a lamentable movie comedy in the 80's called "Water!". Fred Gwynne played a Texas oil baron who in a crisis meeting with executives says, "Boys, I think you're missing the point. The real question is how are we going to get the s#*t back in the horse?"

That is good news, I might actually want to upgrade. Depends on what features it has and Ill look in to that late, but as much as I love the T2I it lacks a little on the photo side, plus I want 15fps RAW shooting.

heck yes! Seeing that i wont be upgrading cams for maybe another year or so and will be concentrating on lenses...this is great news. I do have my Zacuto EVF which covers some of what magic lantern offers but having it in camera will be great also.

I have a question...i wasn't following much of the magic lantern developments since it didn't apply to me....but did ML ever come out with a way to monitor on the camera LCD while plugged in to an external monitor? Or that's not a software issue?

Thank you for this astounding development! I cannot wait until this is available, it will be extremely useful to the 7D community and breaths new life into my dslr. With all this recent news of new canon, Panasonic, Sony and black magic cameras, I was starting to feel a bit aged with my hardware. ML tools will help out immensely and I am definitely up to help with the cause.

Do magic lantern features display on an external monitor or EVF?

edit:thanks for the response re the question Ted ...on the magic lantern forum.

"this video shows the next important step in supporting Canon EOS 7D.

For the first alpha releases we want to load Magic Lantern from a firmware update file (*.fir) only.
This means, no data in flash must be changed, which will ensure that users dont risk to brick their cameras.

As soon Magic Lantern for 7D gets out of alpha stage and safe for daily use, we will
release a .fir that permanently enables loading Magic Lanterns autoexec.bin.

In this video you see that loading Magic Lantern via .fir is working."
