FEATURE: Magic - A Matt Sconce Film

I would venture to guess that financials are what will hook an investor, not a trailer. Give the investor a full-disclosure glimpse of where their money will be spent. They need to see your estimates cash flow: film rebate money, foreign and domestic deals, etc. Cash flow back into the production, which is projected numerous several years. If you can't demonstrate a handful of other films in the same budget and audience that have made money you'll come off looking like an amateur.

It's all about risk mitigation. Just asking for $10M and showing a trailer can only get you so far.

Saw the teaser. How much did that cost you guys?
Just Gas money, networking some connections, calling in some favors and a camera rental at a very discounted rate. :) We definitely go by the motto "it is all about who you know", as well as "If you do not need to turn on the money hose...don't because it is hard to shut off." :)

Do it!

You guys have really great attitudes, and a lot more reservation and patience than myself in regards to certain things...

Patience rocks!

We are very excited as over 170 people have shared the MAGIC teaser trailer with their loads of friends on Facebook. Thousands have visited our MAGIC official web site.

We are going to be showing the MAGIC trailer on blu-ray to a top Disney executive who is in charge of their film production around the end of January, and in the next 2 days one of our producers will be meeting with the head accountant for Criminal Minds to work the budget.

Thanks again DVXusers for all your support. -Gary

Excellent job on the teaser, guys! I really liked the opening shot, the shot where the camera spins around the girl and the ending shot. Keep pushing!!

... The spinning shot was done with our patent pending SpinRig.
Some of you saw our test short NORRIS where we fleshed out the rig.

We have used it in the spin shot on the Sheriff in BY HOOK OR CROOK, in the chase scene in the FREE MOVIE spec trailer, and in a test shoot short. Every shot in NORRIS was shot with an HVX flying on the rig. My favorite is the double spin around Norris as he runs into the parking structure. Notice 910 degrees of motion with no one running the rig. I have on the drawing board a version that will fly the Kerner 3D rig around an independently moving actor.

Just finished the Magic investor book (comparable films, financing strategy, return on investment information, synopsis, images, concept, targeted cast, attached cast, etc) to be sent with the blu-ray and dvd of teaser, budget and script. It turned out awesome and very visual and dynamic. It now goes to print and we move onward and upward. :)

Also, another big name is reading the script for Magic. We shall see what happens.

Update! Just had an A-lister ask for a hard copy of the script. I now have their personal address and email and send the script out overnight on Monday! Super excited! I will release more info when I can.
If you want to know who, just send me a message and I will let you know. Just don't post the information publicly.
